Men’s Tennis Advances to Atlantic East Divisional Final, Falls to Marymount to Close Season

ASTON, Pa. — The Pratt Institute men's tennis team advanced to the 2026 Atlantic East Conference Men's Tennis Championship divisional final with a 4-0 sweep of No. 2 Marywood University before falling to top-seeded Marymount University 4-0 on Friday at Neumann University.

Entering the postseason as the No. 3 seed, Pratt opened the morning semifinal with a commanding performance against Marywood to avenge their regular season defeat. The Cannoneers secured the crucial doubles point with a pair of 6-2 victories. Mikah Liu (Austin, Texas) and Caleb Callahan (New York, N.Y.) took the No. 1 flight, while Eagle Zhang (Beijing, China) and Nathan Park (Seoul, South Korea) triumphed at No. 3.

The momentum carried seamlessly into singles play. Zhang dominated the No. 2 position with a quick 6-0, 6-2 victory. Liu followed closely behind, dispatching his opponent 6-3, 6-1 at the top flight to put the Cannoneers within one point of the finals.

Park delivered the clinching performance at No. 3 singles. After dropping the opening set, the sophomore rallied to completely control the remainder of the match, rolling to a 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 win that halted the remaining flights and secured the 4-0 team sweep.

With the tournament rescheduled to one day due to inclement weather forecasted for the weekend, in the evening divisional championship, Pratt faced a tough test against the defending champion Saints. Marymount jumped out to an early lead, sweeping the three doubles flights to capture the opening point.

The Cannoneers battled in singles play, but couldn't assemble an upset. Marymount secured straight-set wins at the No. 2 and No. 4 positions before clinching the title at the top flight to finalize the 4-0 result.

Pratt concludes their 2025-26 campaign with an 8-5 overall record.
