HADDONFIELD, N.J. — Pratt Institute men's tennis first-year Peter Burnham (Duxbury, Mass.) has been named the Atlantic East Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 14–20, the conference office announced.
Burnham earned the weekly recognition following his performance at top-flight singles against Farmingdale State College on Saturday.
Competing at No. 1 singles, Burnham dropped the opening set 4-6 before forcing a deciding frame with a 6-4 second-set victory. He then secured the point for the Cannoneers in a third-set match tiebreak, winning 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8).
Burnham also competed at No. 1 doubles on Saturday, pairing with senior Eagle Zhang (Beijing, China) in a 6-2 defeat as Pratt fell 5-2 to the Rams.
The Cannoneers return to action on Friday, September 25, for the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Skidmore College.
