Russell Selected Atlantic East Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week

HADDONFIELD, N.J. — The Atlantic East Conference announced its Women's Volleyball weekly award winners Monday, naming Pratt Institute senior Colleen Russell the league's Player of the Week.

Russell, a senior middle hitter from Asbury, N.J., was the driving force behind Pratt's 3-1 win over Lehman College on Thursday — the program's first win of the 2026 season. In the team's lone match of the week, Russell recorded a match-high 18 kills on 39 attempts for a .385 hitting percentage, adding a block assist and a service ace. Her 18 kills were one shy of her career high, and she averaged 4.50 kills per set across the four-set win.

It is the first women's volleyball weekly conference honor for Pratt since joining the Atlantic East in 2024.

First-year setter Emma Hwang (Dallas, Texas) was also recognized on the conference's honor roll for her efforts in the victory. Hwang recorded match-highs of 18 assists and four service aces to go along with and nine digs for a near double-double in the win over Lehman.

Pratt (1-2) returns to action tonight, traveling down Willoughby Avenue to meet Clinton Hill rivals St. Joseph's University, Brooklyn, at 6 p.m.
