NEWARK, NJ - The Pratt Institute men's and women's cross country teams each set a school record at the NJIT Highlander Challenge on Saturday afternoon.
The women's team ran to a 12th place finish out of 28 teams including 6th out of 13 Division III schools that took part in the race.
Lauren Walker set a school record in the 5k race, finishing in 20:22.75 and 44th place out of 235 runners.
Christina Sancho-Spore had the second best time on team, finishing in 69th place running in a time of 21:21.76.
The men's team ran to a 10th place finish out of 29 schools. It also finished 3rd out of the 12 Division III schools participating.
Paden Spencer set the second school record of the day for Pratt, running the 8k in a time of 25:48.03 and finishing in 7th place out of 237 runners. He also had the second fastest time for Division III runners.
Thomas Perrone ran his fastest time of the season, finishing in 39th place in a time of 27:25.27.
Dominic Paolini also set his career best mark, finishing in 72nd place in a time of 28:49.65.
Cross country returns to action on October 10 when it takes part in the Golden Eagle Invitational hosted by St. Joseph's College Long Island.
