PURCHASE, NY - The Pratt Institute's men's and women's cross country teams earned second place finishes in its season opening meet at Purchase College on Saturday afternoon.
In the men's race,
Paden Spencer, in his first race as a Cannoneer, earned the victory with a time of 27:24.7 in the 8k. Â
Thomas Perrone ran to a fourth place finish in a time of 29:35.5 while Dominic Paoli finished in 9th place in a time of 31:22.6.
The Cannoneers finished with 53 points, 15 points behind winner, NJCU.
In the women's race, the Cannoneers also finished in second place with 48 points. St. Joseph's Long Island won the race with 23 points.
Senior
Lauren Walker had the top time for Pratt, running the 6k in a time of 22:32.5 and a fifth place finish. Â
Christina Sancho-Spore finished in 9th place overall in a time of 22:55.2
The Cannoneers return to action on September 25 when it participates in the Penn State Abington Invitational.
