FLUSHING, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's tennis team wrapped its fall slate with a 7-0 sweep of Brooklyn College on Thursday night at the USTA National Tennis Center, improving to 3-2 and extending its win streak to two.
Pratt set the tone by sweeping all three doubles courts without dropping a game. Mikah Liu (Austin, Texas) and Caleb Callahan (New York, N.Y.) won 6-0 at No. 1, Calder Tillinghast (Seattle, Wash.) and Zuhayr Abdulla (San Antonio, Texas) rolled 6-0 at No. 2, and Nathan Park (Seoul, South Korea) and Wyatt Myers (San Francisco, Calif.) finished the sweep 6-0 at No. 3.
The Cannoneers then won all six singles matches. Liu controlled No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-2, while Park posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3. Eagle Zhang (Beijing, China) did not concede a game in a 6-0, 6-0 result at No. 4, and Myers added a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 5.
Callahan delivered another 6-0, 6-0 performance at No. 6. Tillinghast completed the singles sweep with a comeback at No. 2, rallying for a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) decision in a third-set supertiebreaker.
Pratt finished the fall 3-0 at home and earned its first 7-0 sweep of the season. The doubles pair of Park and Myers has won three straight, while Liu and Callahan have won two in a row.
The Cannoneers return to action in the spring.
