Men’s Tennis Stymied on Senior Day by Marymount

QUEENS, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day but fell to league unbeaten Marymount University (Va.) 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Before the match, the Cannoneers (7-4, 2-2 AEC) honored seniors Saddqa Bahidrah (Canton, Mich.), Caleb Callahan (New York, N.Y.) and Brian Duval (Glen Gardner, N.J.) in a joint ceremony with the women's tennis team for their dedication and contributions to the program.

Marymount (10-8, 4-0 AEC) jumped out to an early lead by sweeping the doubles flights. Callahan teamed with Mikah Liu (Austin, Texas) at the No. 1 position, battling in a 6-3 setback. Duval partnered with Nathan Park (Seoul, South Korea) at No. 3 doubles, falling 6-1, while Wyatt Myers (San Francisco, Calif.) and Zuhayr Abdulla (San Antonio, Texas) dropped a 6-2 decision at No. 2.

In singles action, Liu provided the most tightly contested match of the afternoon at the No. 1 flight. After taking the opening set, Liu was edged in the second before ultimately succumbing in a hard-fought tiebreak 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) decision.

Callahan put up a fight in his final home match at No. 6 singles, taking five games in a 6-1, 6-4 defeat. Park won six games at No. 3 singles before falling 6-2, 6-4, and Eagle Zhang (Beijing, China) competed well at No. 2, dropping a 6-3, 6-3 decision.

Pratt finishes the regular season as the No. 3 seed and will face Marywood University in the semifinals of the 2026 Atlantic East Conference Championship on Friday, April 24, at Neumann University.
