YAPHANK, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute equestrian team launched its 2025-26 season Sunday with a ribbon-rich performance at the St. Joseph's University IHSA Show, highlighted by a class victory from sophomore Grace Plunkett (Los Angeles, Calif.).
Plunkett earned first place in Open Hunter Seat Equitation on the Flat and added a third-place finish over fences, helping Pratt to a tie for sixth place among 10 competing teams at Good Shepherd Farm.
Fifth-year Alin Kutan (Istanbul, Turkey) also made a strong showing in Open Equitation, placing fourth over fences and third on the flat.
Sophomore Audrey Flatt (Nashville, Tenn.) turned in a double-ribbon performance in the Intermediate division, finishing sixth over fences and fifth on the flat.
Junior Katie McVeigh (San Diego, Calif.) mirrored that consistency in Limit Equitation with a pair of sixth-place results in both phases.
Sophomore Leilani Hamilton (Queens Village, N.Y.) picked up a fifth-place ribbon in Novice Equitation, while seniors Paty Garcia (El Paso, Texas) and Aahan Pradhan (Gurgaon, India) each placed fourth in their respective Pre-Novice classes.
Sophomore Sophia Potorti (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added a fourth-place finish in Introductory Equitation to round out Pratt's scoring effort.
The Cannoneers return Good Shepard Farm next Sunday, October 12, for the Stony Brook University IHSA Show.
