YAPHANK, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute equestrian team placed seventh at Stony Brook University's IHSA Horse Show on Saturday at Good Shepherd Farm and remained fifth in the regional standingsÂ
Co-captain Grace Plunkett (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the way with a runner-up in Open Equitation over Fences and added fourth on the flat to pace the Cannoneers at the top level
Co-captain Alin Kutan (Istanbul, Turkey) backed that effort with third in Open over Fences and fourth on the flat, keeping Pratt in the mix early.
In Intermediate, Audrey Flatt (Nashville, Tenn.) posted fifth-place rides both over fences and on the flat, while Katie McVeigh (San Diego, Calif.) added fifth on the flat to bolster the middle flights.
Pratt's depth showed in the lower divisions. Aahan Pradhan (Gurgaon, India) and Yagmur Omurluoglu (White Rock, British Columbia, Canada) each finished fourth in Pre-Novice, and in Introductory, Sophia Potorti (Brooklyn, N.Y.) placed fourth while Vedika Chauhan (Vadodara, Gujarat) took third. First-year Addie Hollon (Santa Ynez, Calif.) added sixth on the flat to close the Cannoneers' card.
Pratt closes out the fall schedule on Sunday, Nov. 9 at LIU's show at North Shore Equestrian Center in Greenvale, N.Y.
