READING, Pa. — The Pratt Institute track and field teams competed in the PLEX Shootout hosted by Alvernia University on Saturday.
Kate Nolan led three top 10 finishes for the women, clocking in at 8.45 in the 60-meter dash prelims to finish in ninth, on the bubble of making the finals. Giovanna Lisa took 10th in the women's 5000-meter in 21:30.64 while Hannah Kim hed the throwers with a toss of 10.12 meters in the shot put, also taking 10th.
The women also turned in several personal bests – Sophie Salvucci (8.84) and Allyson Ing (9.82) in the 60-meter dash; Kathleen Chen (7:09.01) in the mile; Jordana Halpern (9.72) in the weight throw.
Justin Cai led the men with a personal-best 18:16.43 in the 5000-meter run for 22nd place. Soren Ekstrom also collected 22nd place in the men's weight throw (5.1 meters). Jesus Nunez-Del Cuadro clocked in at 1:09.02 in the 400-meter.
Pratt races at the Big Apple Invitational next Saturday, February 8 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
