NORTHPORT, N.Y. — The Pratt Institute equestrian team wrapped up its 2024-25 regular season at the Adelphi & Molloy Universities IHSA Horse Show, highlighted by strong individual performances and two regional qualifiers.
In Sunday's competition, Grace Plunkett finished second in Open Hunter Seat Equitation on the Flat and fifth in Open Hunter Seat Equitation over Fences. Plunkett is now the lone rider to qualify for Regionals in both disciplines, doing so in the open division as a rookie.
Paty Garcia also placed second in Introductory Hunter Seat Equitation also earning qualification for the IHSA Regionals, while pointing out of introductory level.
Audrey Flatt contributed to Pratt's success by securing second place in Intermediate Hunter Seat Equitation on the Flat, along with a sixth-place finish over Fences.
Katie McVeigh placed fourth in Limit Hunter Seat Equitation on the Flat. Maria Alcivar and Leilani Hamilton each placed fourth in Pre-Novice Hunter Seat Equitation. Chloe Joyce earned fifth place in Intermediate Hunter Seat Equitation on the Flat.
For the show and on the season, Pratt finished sixth among the region's eleven competing teams.
Garcia, Plunkett, and previously qualified Alcivar, Joyce and Aahan Pradhan will ride into the postseason at the IHSA Regionals this Sunday at the North Shore Equestrian Center in Brookville, N.Y.
