MADISON, N.J. — The Pratt Institute men's tennis team was swept 7-0 by Drew University in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon at the Drew Tennis Complex.
The Cannoneers (1-2) earned a victory at No. 3 doubles behind the pairing of first-year Wyatt Myers (San Francisco, Calif.) and sophomore Nathan Park (Seoul, South Korea), who defeated Cameron Longa and Pharell Longenbach of Drew 6-3. However, Drew (2-0) clinched the doubles point with matching 6-1 wins at the top two flights.
Drew carried momentum into singles where it won all six matches in straight sets. Myers battled late in his match at No. 5 but dropped a 6-2, 7-5 decision. Zuhayr Abdulla (San Antonio, Texas) extended his match at No. 6 singles to a second-set tiebreak but came up just short, falling 6-0, 7-6 (10-8).
Pratt will look to bounce back on Sunday, October 5, when it hosts Rutgers-Camden at the USTA National Tennis Center in Queens starting at noon.
