BRONX, N.Y. — Battling unseasonably hot and humid conditions, the Pratt Institute men's cross country team turned in a strong performance with a ninth-place team finish at the 2025 Queensborough Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park.
The Cannoneers totaled 310 points to finish ninth overall in the 20-team field, anchored by junior Liam Reilly (East Setauket, N.Y.) and first-year Jackson Brock (Vicenza, Italy), who worked in tandem for most of the 8-kilometer race. The pair crossed the finish line back-to-back in 35:00.7 and 35:05.7, respectively, placing 46th and 47th overall.
First-year Mingyi Chen (Short Hills, N.J.) was next to follow in a 36:59.7, slotting in at 67th overall.
Senior Andrew Weiss (West Hartford, Conn) clocked in at 39:05.9 for 85th place, followed by sophomore William Stewart (Stuttgart, Germany), who closed out scoring in 133rd (47:44.6).
The event was won by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy with a dominant low score of 30 points followed by St. Joseph's University (Long Island) with 84 points.
The men will enter a gauntlet of racing as they compete next weekend at the Highlander Invitational hosted by Cairn University.
