Verghese Picked as Atlantic East Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

HADDONFIELD, N.J.. — Pratt Institute junior Pallavi Verghese has been named the Atlantic East Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The Fayetteville, Ark. native earned the honor following a standout performance in Pratt's 9-0 sweep over Drew University, helping keep the Cannoneers perfect on the season at 3-0. Verghese teamed up with Beatrice Crespo in No. 1 doubles for a dominant 6-0 victory, and then powered to a 6-1, 6-2 decision in No. 1 singles to complete the sweep.

This marks the first conference weekly award of Verghese's career, the first of the 2025-26 season for Pratt women's tennis. The defending champion Cannoneers collected four weekly honors in 2024-25 in their first season in the league.

Pratt will look to improve to 4-0 hosting Rutgers-Camden on Sunday, October 5 at the USTA National Center.
