HADDONFIELD, N.J. — After leading the Pratt Institute men's tennis team to a 6-1 victory over Neumann University to open the spring season, junior Mikah Liu (Austin, Texas) was named the Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
The recognition marks the fourth time Liu has garnered the league's weekly honor this season in the first edition of the weekly awards for the spring. He previously collected the award three times during the fall campaign.
Liu guided the Cannoneers to a successful start in conference play on Saturday. At No. 1 doubles, he teamed with senior Caleb Callahan (New York, N.Y.) to secure a 6-3 win and help capture the opening point.
Transitioning to singles, Liu occupied the top flight and delivered a straight-set 6-4, 6-1 triumph. His performances helped Pratt improve to 4-2 overall and extend its winning streak to three matches dating back to the fall.
The Cannoneers return to action hosting Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday, March 25 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, starting at 6:30 p.m.
