HADDONFIELD, N.J. — Junior Mikah Liu (Austin, Texas) of the Pratt Institute men's tennis team was named the Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week for the sixth time this season, the league announced on Monday.
The recognition follows a dominant showing at the top of the lineup during a 7-0 non-conference road sweep of Lehman College, helping the Cannoneers bounce back into the win column and improve to 7-3 overall.
Surrendering just two total games on the afternoon, Liu controlled his individual matchups. He partnered with senior Aditya Shivkumar (Bombay, India) to secure a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles, setting the tone for a strong start for Pratt.
Transitioning to singles play, Liu continued his commanding run at the No. 1 flight. The junior dispatched his opponent in straight sets, posting a 6-0, 6-1 triumph to secure another team point.
Liu has now captured the league's top weekly honor three times during the spring campaign, adding to his three nods from the fall season.
Pratt closes out the regular season hosting Marymount University on Saturday, April 18 at 12 p.m. at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
