Pratt Institute Announces Cancellation of 2024-25 Women’s Basketball Season

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Pratt Institute has announced the cancellation of the upcoming 2024-25 women's basketball season as a result of low roster numbers and out of a concern for student-athlete safety and well-being.

"Despite this difficult and disappointing news, I am optimistic that our women's basketball program is moving in the right direction under our new head coach" commented Director of Athletics and Recreation Walter Rickard. 

Carlos Acevedo was named head coach in late April. 

"We are committed to rebuilding a roster that will compete next season."
